Trace elements, particularly iron, are essential nutrients for the healthy growth of aquatic plants. Iron promotes the formation of chlorophyll (the green pigment of plants).

The concentration of iron in your aquarium should be between 0.25 and 0.5 mg/l, which is suitable for all aquatic plants.
However, the iron concentration in aquaria can easily fall; iron is used by the plants as a nutrient, and is chemically degraded.
In the long term, an iron content below 0.1 to 0.25 mg/l can prevent your plants from growing, causing the leaves to turn yellow.
The TetraWHVW kit for iron was professionally developed to enable you to determine the precise iron concentration (including complex iron) in your aquarium using a simple method.
To ensure optimum water quality, we recommend controlling concentrations in the water on a weekly basis.

10 ml (35 tests)

Usage Guidelines:
Please read the instructions before proceeding with the test.
1. Rinse the test vial with the sample water.
2. Fill the test vial with sample water to the 5 ml mark.
3. Fill both compartments of the vial lid with the test powder (up to the half-way mark), directly from
the powder tin.
4. Tip the test powder into the test vial and shake it carefully.
5. Hold the bottle containing the test liquid over the test vial and add 5 drops to it.
6. Carefully shake the vial.
7. Wait for 10 minutes for the colour to develop. While waiting, carefully shake the vial several times.
8. Carefully shake the vial, determine which colour on the colour chart is closest to that of the test solution and read the respective value from the chart. Compare the colour of the test solution with the colour chart by looking down into the vial. On completion of the test, carefully rinse the test vial with tap water.

Favourable iron concentrations are between 0.25 and 0.5 mg/l. Concentrations should not fall below 0.1 mg/l for a long period of time. The iron concentrations of your aquarium can easily be corrected by using Tetra fertilizer (Tetra plantamin)

Caution (Corrective actions if iron is below the ideal values)
Carry out regular partial water changes and remove plant and food remains from the bottom of
the aquarium using TetraWHF Gravel Cleaner. Always condition the new tap water with
Tetratest AquaSafe in order to neutralise solute chlorine and heavy metals.

Clean your filter regularly, using water taken from the aquarium to prevent the destruction of
special micro-organisms, which are necessary for the degradation of harmful substances.

You can feed your fish 3 to 4 times a day - but only give the fish the amount of food they can eat within 3 to 5 minutes
