The pellets that you feed your rabbit daily should be fresh – if there are any leftovers from the meal, toss them away and refill the bowl with new ones. Based on the size and age of your rabbit, it is advised to feed only a maximum of about 1/8 - ½ cup of pellets every day to prevent overeating. Baby rabbits would generally require more as compared to adult rabbits as they require more protein and calcium to build strong muscles and bones.

Good-quality pellets should have at least approximately 20% crude fibre, nothing more than 14% protein and a minute percentage of calcium. It is a good practice to check the nutritional information of any pet food before making a purchase.
