A rabbit cage serves as a safe haven or nest for your rabbit to rest in. At Pet Lovers Centre, we have a variety of rabbit enclosures from well-known brands such as Toro and Marukan to cater to your pet’s varying needs.
When deciding on the size of a home for your rabbit, the bigger, the better – a safe estimation would be for the cage to be at least four times the size of your pet to give him ample space to run around. Smaller rabbits that are lighter than 3.6kg may only require a cage that is 24 inches by 36 inches, while larger rabbits would require one that is at least 30 inches by 36 inches. Also, do ensure that there is room to fit other necessities such as your pet’s toys, food and litter box.
Apart from the size of the cage, another thing to note is the material of the cage floor as it is best to get one that comes with a solid floor instead of a wire one. However, if you have already bought a wire floor cage, fret not as all you need to do is to cover it with a piece of wood, grass or a mat to prevent any discomfort.
