Providing a high-quality diet for your chinchilla is crucial as they have very delicate guts. That is why Pet Lovers Centre’s wide range of food from brands such as Marukan and Cunipic has been specially selected for your chinchilla’s well-being.
The main component of your chinchilla’s diet should be pellets, completed with a substantial amount of hay. When it comes to the nutritional value of pellets, the ideal combination is a high protein (16 - 20%), low fat and fibre-rich formula. One to two tablespoons of fresh pellets should be fed to your chinchilla daily. This can be split into two feeds throughout the day or just one, depending on your pet’s size, age and activity levels.
Due to a chinchilla’s sensitive digestive system, it is best to only feed them pellets that have been made exclusively for them. Having a fixed schedule to feed your furry friend is also recommended as chinchillas prefer fixed routines.
