Hi Mytotoro78,
Weird breathing sounds may be caused by narrowing of the nasal passages caused by presence of foreign objects or presence of mucous discharges. URI (upper respiratory tract infection) may be possible, and it requires immediate veterinary medical intervention.
To help prevent the progress of the possible URI, we suggest the following:
1. Provide appropriate well balanced diet to your guinea pig including the required vitamin C intake. This vitamin C (couple with good balanced diet) may also help combat respiratory infections by boosting your pet's immune status.
2. Keep the cage/environment away from stress (such as too hot or too cold or too noisy). This would eventually reduce stress that usually compromises your pet's immune system. Stress is one of the culprits that triggers low immunity and leads to lower resistance to combat diseases. We suggest too to keep the beddings dry and clean at all times.
3. Regular veterinary check up. Veterinary clinics in KL may offer guinea pig check up as well as treatment. We suggest to give a call for appoinment or for plainly enquries to your veterinary clinic of choice.
