Guinea pig are usually observed always staying in one corner of a cage, especially, when they are newly brought home. Some guinea pigs are quite shy and once they feel something odd, they freeze and stay in one corner. We suggest, then, the following:
1. Minimize stress on the part of your pet. Provide them with hiding place such as hutches or hideaway to provide a zone of comfort. They are sensitive to loud noises as well as the presence of other predatory pets (i.e. dogs, or cats) hence, avoid exposing/ interacting them with these pets.
2. Continue to monitor your pet, especially eating behavior and provide ample amount of fresh and clean water at all times. Provide too, well balanced diet as well lots of hay.
Let them settle and adjust to their new environment and gradually interact with them in due time.
