The type of diet your cat needs depend on your veterinarian's diagnosis as to what type of diabetes your cat is affected and his/her prescription. We suggest to continue providing the appropriate diabetic cat diet prescribed by your veterinarian. Majority of diabetic cat diets have ingredients which have low glycemic index properties. An improper high glucose content of a certain diet may result to increased blood sugar, which may increase too your cat's sugar contents in the urine. These clinical manifestations have serious consequences and are potentially life threatening in the long run.
