White discoloration may indicate tissue growth (i.e. cataract) or mucoid eye discharges. The former (cataract) can be due to ageing while the later is more on chronic irritation on the eyes.
Partial or total blindness can be possible due to these predisposing factors. We therefore, suggest to have it examined by your veterinarian for appropriate treatment.
For the time being, however, we may suggest too to provide eye wash and keep your hamster cage clean and dry at all times to avoid accumulation of dusts and dirt that may cause eye irritations.
