Technically "White spot disease" in fish is caused by ciliated protozoa and one of the most common external parasites of fish. The occurrence of the disease is determined too by the water temperature of your aquariu,. It usually takes 3-4 days for the diseases to develop in 24 to 26 degrees centigrade and longer in cooler temperature.
Treatment is important in these cases to avoid further complications. There are products available such as those that contain copper sulfate as a godo choice for treatment. Please follow the recommended dose and dosage intervals for optimum effects.
In addition, it is important to maintain optimum water parameters (nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, ph, temp) to have healthier environment to avoid these diseases to set in.
